Uche Fuels Dominant Palace Victory at Shelbourne.

Even though entering their first-ever continental campaign, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting at a rapid pace. Without star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable win that virtually secures them a place in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.

Another victory in their next fixture against Finland's KuPS ought to be enough to seal straight entry to the last 16, especially after a prior stumble against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Moment

This match provided a platform for some of Palace's fringe players to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning since arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second consecutive succession.

The Shelbourne team that had concluded their league season proved outmatched against a largely second-string Palace lineup. The Londoners were already depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee injuries.

Control Asserted from the Outset

Despite torrential rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly established dominance. A slick move in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's incisive pass, allowed Nketiah to set up Uche for a straightforward finish.

Youngster Adam Wharton went close minutes later, driving a powerful shot over the bar. Nketiah subsequently appealed for a penalty after racing into the area, but the referee waved away the appeals.

Ex-Arsenal man didn't need to wait long to find his goal, prodding home from close range after Uche's effort had struck the post.

The home side were hanging on for dear life. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to avoid a booking for a couple of agricultural tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the woodwork with a header from a corner.

Yeremy Pino Seals the Game

The match was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some comically weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.

Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, only to see his effort blocked.

Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for improvement in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect night for the traveling side.
